I've nearly completed my challenge fic and now the editing process begins. I'm rusty, but I still have three days to get it all done. So I just remembered that I signed up for picfor1000 and my story is due by 2/28. Thankfully it's only 1000 words so I'm pretty certain I can complete it and get it posted with the little bit of time I've left for myself.

Now to figure out how this image inspires me. *ponders*

Is anyone else watching Almost Human? Karl Urban and Michael Ealy dragged me into this buddy cop drama and I'm surprisingly comfortable with that. It helps that I adore both actors and it looks like they're doing their level best to have fun. Nothing too serious. I'm forcing myself to get back into reading (something other than fanfiction). I read the first book in the Vampire Academy and it's fluffy fun. Nothing deep, but there are some interesting concepts and the lead character is rather amusing so she holds my interest more than anything. Hopefully the second book does the same ( Read more... )

This last month was harder on my muse and I saw a dip in my amount of words written. I firmly blame the prompt 'father' for messing with my flow so very much. The badness rolled over into the last week's prompt and left me floundering until sudden inspiration hit and I added to the Miles to Go'verse. Weird.

So I'm working on the next Sherlock ficlet and realized I desperately need a someone to beta my British characters. I know I watch a lot of BBC, but that in no way makes me an expert, or even a novice really, and I'd really like my British characters to sound, well, British and the research I've done on shops and sites in London to be as accurate ( Read more... )

I think perhaps it might be safe to say that tamingthemuse has gotten me back on the writing horse. It hasn't always been easy to get something posted in time, but I've managed to do it for 22 weeks and counting. I think the subject of this post about sums up how I feel. :)
